November 12 was a very nice evening for some very nice mamas who just need some sleep! Teeny Cake was kind enough to host our gathering in their private room and provide us some tasty treats, including cupcakes, lemonade, tea, and coffee! Everyone knows that sugar and caffeine is what helps a mama get through the day!
Fourteen lucky ladies got an intimate question-and-answer night filled with helpful tidbits from sleep expert, Brenda Evans, MSN, PNP, CLC, GSC. Brenda advocates the Gentle Sleep Method as a way to help your kids to sleep as opposed to crying it out methods. While her approach is more focused on children from 6 months – 18 months, Brenda was able to help moms with older children in attendance with their sleep difficulties, too. The majority of mamas seemed to agree the most pressing issue was getting the children to sleep! Others had problems with wake-ups in the middle of the night. Brenda was so helpful in applying her methods to the individual mamas that attended- everyone got something out of this evening!
